I have just come home from a long day. The last few hours at a rehearsal for a concert which we have for our creative arts academy on Saturday, and I decided to read a verse in Proverbs and I saw this scripture which I find quite fitting with the conert coming up.
"The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit" (Proverbs 15:4)
We have a large number of students performing at the concert this weekend. Some of which are very new to performing and it could be their first performance ever. The last thing they need is someone to be cruel or angry if something doesn't quite go as planned. As a teacher it's important to remember that each of the students is up there and giving it their best, we need to be encouraging and lift our students up because that is what will bring them to life.
It's not just in these times that we need to remember this. Everyone should live by this proverb. When we speak kind, uplifting words to someone it does more for them than critisizing them. People take on critisism and then think that they are not good enough. Being kind, uplifting and understanding will make them want to continue to try and will bring joy to their life. I know I would much rather be responsible for a smile on someones face than tears in their eyes.
Thankful for: Fun & Positive People
I have spent all evening around a bunch of fun and positive people, all doing their bit in the community for God. Loving Him, and loving others. I'm just very thankful for people like this in my life who really make me look at myself and help me to make sure I too am being positive and fun.
