Spiritual Hunger

I would usually post a song on Sunday but I'm going to continue with my journal.

Today's entry was about Spiritual Hunger, focusing on prayer and fasting. Fasting allows us to completely focus on Jesus. It helps to enrich our prayer life and attain breakthrough in our lives. I have fasted before and have found it to be very helpful.

Matthew 6:16-18 gives us instruction about how to fast. "When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you". It's important that we do not boast about our fasting, doing this will often mean you are trying to get recognition from others and praise from others. The only person who can reward your fasting is God.

Fasting helps us defeat the enemy. In 2 Chronicles 20:15 God tells us not to be afraid of the enemy. We need to know that God will fight the battles for us.

Thankful for: Touch

I find myself becoming more accepting of touch these days. I used to be a very personal person and did not like people entering my personal space to even hug me, but I've recently discovered how important this is. It shows love when you have nothing else to give.
